The gallbladder is an important organ in our body which is responsible for storing bile. Bile is a necessary ingredient that is used in the digestion of food and therefore, any problem with the gallbladder has a direct effect on the digestive system of a person.
Along with that, there can be an emergence of several complications like the formation of gallstones or other clumps which can lead to severe pain.
In many cases, the emergence of gallstones is followed by a surgery to completely remove the gallbladder. Many debate that a surgery to remove the gallbladder is not really necessary because one can dissolve and flush out the toxins, stones and impurities in the gallbladder by carrying forth a cleanse.
A gallbladder cleanse is used in a dual way such that it dissolves the stones into a smaller size such that passing them out along with other impurities becomes possible and does not harm the system in any way.

Gallbladder Cleanse Recipes

Why is there an accumulation of sludge and impurities in the gallbladder? This comes about because we tend to pressure, stress and overwork the digestive system such that digestion of the food is affected to a certain extent and therefore, there is an accumulation of sludge. This then tends to accumulate in layers in the digestive system and the gallbladder.
There are several natural recipes that can be used for gallbladder cleansing. In this following section, we will give you some of the most effective recipes that can be used for the same. These being:
  • The Olive Oil Formula
  • The All Day Natural Cleanse
  • The Psyllium Husk-Bentonite Clay Combination

The Olive Oil Formula

Olive oil is an excellent cleansing agent when it comes to cleansing the gallbladder. The right method to consume it is to have about 4-6 oz of extra virgin olive oil, mixed with grape juice (To mask the taste of olive oil) Olive oil is said to be an excellent agent for dissolving the hardened gallstones and help in flushing them right out of the system.
The correct way to have this is to take the mixture and gulp it down in one go, instead of sipping it. Drink this before bed and then lie on the right side with the right knee tucked into the sides. Repeat the same on a weekly basis for a complete and thorough cleanse.

The All Day Natural Cleanse

Here's another excellent way of getting the cleansing done. This focuses more on a change in one's routine than a mere consumption of certain products. Restrict your activity to a minimum on the day that you choose to do the same because there might be some who might feel weak.
Here is how you go about this one:
  • Start the morning with a warm glass of water, mixed with the juice of half a lemon.
  • After a lapse of 30 minutes, have a bowl of fruit.
  • Then throughout the day, consume only fruits, boiled veggies and soups (No fattening seasoning like cream and mayonnaise).
  • Have as much water as possible throughout the day. Try to consume warm water, cause this has a better effect on the system.
  • Avoid aerated drinks, coffee, tea or any other caffeine induced drinks.
  • Do not have any solid food for the entire day and nothing oily, fried and spicy.
  • Try to eat very light food the next day as well for a complete cleanse.
This cleanse will put least amount of pressure on the digestive system, liver and the gallbladder and will lead to the flushing of toxins and impurities that have accumulated. This cleansing routine should be followed every 15 days.

Note - Women who are menstruating should not go for this process.

The Psyllium Husk-Bentonite Clay Combination

This is another natural cleansing process that can be used for a complete gallbladder cleanse. To do this:
  • Soak bentonite clay (1 tsp) in water (1 cup) for 12 hours. Preferably do this in the morning so that you can consume the same at night.
  • When you are ready to consume it, add pysllium husk seeds (1/2-1 tsp) to the mixture and mix. Psyllium seeds have a very high content of fiber. This works by pulling in water into the digestive system and thereby automatically flushing the impurities and cleansing the system.
  • After mixing the ingredients consume it immediately and follow it up with a cup of warm water.
  • Make sure that you have at least 8 cups of water all through the next day.
  • Repeat this process for a week at least so that the whole system is cleansed and the gallbladder is clean.
Many people also swear by the medicinal properties of apple cider juice. They go on to consume apple cider juice on an empty stomach for a period of 2-3 days. Limiting their food intake to only fruits and salads other than the juice. This works in flushing the impurities and leading to a cleaner system.
If you're experiencing problems with the functioning of the gallbladder, one should start out on these recipes soon enough. Please make sure that you contact your doctor before starting out on them though, for, safety always comes first.
