Lime tree, commonly known as Linden tree, is native to countries like Asia, Europe, and North America. The leaves of all the species of linden tree are heart-shaped and most of them are asymmetrical. The leaves turn yellow in color during the fall season, and some of them are found to be slightly hairy, mostly, in younger trees.
It produces yellow-colored fragrant flowers which are a major source of attraction for the bees. Even aphids are attracted to this tree. If a car is parked under this tree, after few hours, it would be totally covered with honeydew.
It is often used for ornamental purpose, but it is mainly used to make herbal medicines. Many practitioners recommend different types of trees for various ailments. Traditionally, it was used to help fight cough, cold, and digestive problems.
