Lavender plant belongs to the Lamiaceae family, which includes many other culinary herbs. The Lavandula genus has 39 different species of flowering plants. This plant is usually 6 - 24 inches tall. Its leaves are silver-green in color, and it bears pretty violet or purple colored flowers.

How To Prepare Lavender Tea

  • Place the buds in a teapot, along with a tea bag of your choice (black tea or green tea). Pour some water in it and bring it to a boil.
  • Thereafter, remove the pot from heat and let the buds and the tea bag steep in it for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bag, and serve the tea hot.
There's another way of using this herb. Get your hands on its blossoms, and secure them with a wax paper. Place a weight on top of the paper for 2 days. Pluck away the dried petals and crumble them into pieces. Follow the aforementioned steps to prepare the tea.
