Homemade massage oils give you an easier access to quick relaxation. Certain massage oil recipes must be memorized by heart, so that you can swiftly prepare them, as and when you are in need of unwinding and pampering yourself.

Recipes for Massage Oils

Massage Oil for Hair

Ingredients:
■ 1 tsp. rosemary oil
■ 1 tsp. basil oil
■ 1 tsp. lavender oil
■ 1 tbsp. burdock oil
■ 1 tbsp. aloe vera gel
Method:
■ Mix one teaspoon oil of rosemary, basil and lavender and pour this mixture into a dark bottle, to prevent any negative effects of direct sunlight.
■ In a separate bowl, mix five drops of this mixture and add 1 tablespoon of burdock oil and 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel to it. Now combine the entire mixture and let it sit for a day or two.
■ Massage your scalp with this oil a night before shampooing it. This cures itchiness or irritations that are caused to the scalp and also helps in getting rid of dandruff.
■ It improves the strength of your hair and averts hair loss.
■ Massaging soothes your scalp and stimulates hair growth.

Facial Massage Oil

Ingredients:
■ 1/3 cup Jojoba
■ 1/3 cup rose water
■ 1 teaspoon vitamin E
■ 10 drops grapefruit seed extract
■ 4 drops sandalwood essential oil
■ 3 drops patchouli essential oil
■ 1 drop rosewood essential oil
■ 1 drop rose geranium essential oil
■ 1 drop ylang ylang essential oil
■ 2 tablespoons emulsifying wax
Method:
■ Pour the wax and jojoba oil in a double boiler and stir it slowly till the oil and the wax melt completely.
■ Add the vitamin E oil to the mixture and mix it well.
■ In another container, warm the rose water and just when it becomes lukewarm, add it to the wax mixture. Whisk it till all the ingredients blend well.
■ Now pour in the essential oils and mix the entire mixture into a thick paste for about 15 minutes.
■ Use it in a paste form to massage your face. While massaging your face, move your fingertips in a circular motion to improve blood circulation and to get rid of white heads.
■ This will soothe your skin and give it a radiant glow.

Body Massage Oil

Ingredients:
■ 4 tablespoons of olive oil
■ 2 tablespoons of rosehip seed oil
■ 10 drops of Patchouli essential oil
■ 10 drops lemongrass essential oil
■ 10 drops vanilla fragrance oil
Method:
■ Start with heating olive oil in a pot on low heat. Remember that the oil should not be boiling hot, but just lukewarm.
■ Remove it from it and then add the remaining oils into it, saving vanilla for the last.
■ Make sure that the mixture stays warm. Just when you are about to begin the massage, add the vanilla drop and mix them well.
■ Using this homemade massage oil relaxes and refreshes the mind. This is the best massage for improving your sensuality too.
The essential oils given in all these recipes are easily available at reasonable prices in most departmental stores. You can hire a masseuse at your home to give a required massage. This will drastically save your costs, as most spas are expensive.
