Home Remedies for Wart Removal

A wart is a small, non-cancerous growth that develops on the skin. Home remedies are inexpensive and are very effective against warts.
A wart is an unpleasant skin growth caused by a viral infection. These abnormal growths that occur on the skin are non-cancerous. This is a common skin infection that generally affects the hands and legs.

Removing Warts Naturally

Essential Oils

Using a cotton swab, apply tea tree oil on the wart many times in a day. This method is often used to remove warts, as the oil is a powerful antiseptic that is capable of destroying most of the bacteria. The oil should be applied daily, until the wart disappears.
Castor oil is also recommended for removing warts. This popular method involves applying the oil on the wart and then rubbing or massaging the affected area with your finger. This home remedy does not give immediate results, and takes 3 to 4 weeks to completely eliminate the wart.
When castor oil is applied, make sure that the affected area is covered with a bandage throughout the day. Remove the bandage, only when applying the oil again.

Banana Peels

Another successful home remedy for wart removal is the use of banana peels. You need to simply rub a banana peel and within a few weeks, the wart will clear away. In order to make this home remedy more effective, you must rub the banana peel on the wart several times a day.
Raw potatoes have also been helpful for treating warts. You have to cut the potato and rub it on the affected area. Continue doing it for at least 2 weeks, to get the desired result. Essential lemon oil can also work wonders in eliminating warts. Just apply a single drop of lemon oil on the wart, few times a day. Repeat it, until the wart goes away.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is also extremely beneficial for wart removal. Aloe vera has been in use for years as an effective wart treatment. This form of home remedy can reduce discomfort to a great extent, and speed up the healing process. Soak a cotton ball for a minute in aloe cream or gel, and then place it on the wart. Aloe should be added every few hours to the cotton ball. Don't forget to change the cotton ball daily and the wart will go away within a few days.

Garlic

Due to its antiviral properties, garlic can eliminate warts within a short time. Make a warm moist preparation of crushed raw garlic. Mash the garlic and apply it directly on the wart. Cover the affected area with a bandage for 24 hours. After removing the bandage, you will see a blister, which indicates that the wart may fall off within a week.

Milkweed Juice

Externally applying milkweed juice can also help to clear away the warts. Commonly found in North America, this weed has a milky juice that runs through its vascular system. Milkweed has long been hailed by the Greeks for its high medicinal value. The milky juice that it provides can work wonders to get rid of warts.
Firstly, slightly peel off the top layer of the warts and then just dab the milkweed sap (milky juice) on the area infected with warts many times throughout the day. Over time, the wart will eventually drop off.

White Cabbage

Duct Tape

Duct tape can also be used for removing warts. In this method, you have to cut a piece of duct tape to cover the wart. Leave the tape on for 5-6 days. After keeping the affected part covered for about a week, remove the tape. Now properly soak your wart in water and scrub it using a pumice stone. The scrubbing action will remove the wart right away. However, if it does not go, repeat this procedure for another one or two weeks.
These are some of the popular home remedies that can eliminate warts without damaging the skin and without any side effects. Apart from using the right topical remedies, it is equally important to have healthy food during meals to speed up healing. One should have plenty of fruits and dark green leafy vegetables in order to drive away the infection at the earliest. Also, one should ditch coffee and cigarettes, as they can worsen the infection.
