A gallbladder cleansing diet can be very effective in reducing the instance of gallstones and also the discomfort caused by existing gallstones. In this story, we'll explain to you a couple of diets that will help flush out your gallbladder.
Gallbladder problems are common among people who have high cholesterol levels, due to the kind of food they eat. The purpose of a gallbladder cleansing diet is to effectively dissolve gallstones and possibly reduce the need for gallbladder removal surgery.
Gallstones form when bile (the digestive juice produced by the liver) gets crystallized within the gallbladder. Gallstones can be made of cholesterol or calcium, and can either be big or small.
They are often excruciating and if allowed to grow too large, they require to be surgically extracted. Let us see how we can extricate them from our body, by following an appropriate diet.

The diets given in the story are not recommended for people who have calcified gallstones, and for those whose gallstones are large in size. Please consult your doctor before you go on any gallbladder detox diet.
Diet #1
For this gallbladder detox diet, you'll require -
Apple juice
Epsom salt
Olive oil
Grapefruit juice
Lemon juice
This diet lasts for 4 days. On the first three days, you are supposed to drink fresh apple juice regularly. This will help to make the cleanse work easily. Fresh salads and raw fruit are your meal options. On the fourth day (preferably a holiday), you need to consume a light breakfast and lunch, again consisting of only fresh vegetables and/or fruits.
Then in the evening, drink a glass of water with 4 tbsp of Epsom salt in it. After 2 hours, drink another glass of the same drink. After another 2 hours, mix the grapefruit juice, the lemon juice and a cup of olive oil and drink it. Then, go to bed. The cleanse will work overnight.
In the morning, after about 9 hours of your last drink, have another glass of the Epsom salt water, followed by one more in another 2 hours. Continue eating only fresh fruits and vegetables for the entire day, and by the end of the 5th day, your gallbladder will be thoroughly cleansed.
Diet #2
If the above-mentioned diet seems unpleasant to you, you may want to try out the one below, which is a slight variation of the one above. For this diet you'll require -
Phos drops (Ortho phosphoric acid available at drug stores)
Sodium phosphate (a salt)
A gallbladder complex capsule bottle
Apple juice
Lemon juice
Olive oil
This diet takes 3 weeks to work, but is much more comfortable than the one mentioned above. For the first two weeks, you need to drink fresh apple juice, with 10 ml of the Phos drops in it. This will help to soften and dissolve the gallstones. Plan your cleanse in such a way that the last day is a holiday, because the last day can be quite overwhelming.
In the third week, you need to eat a salad of boiled beet, drizzled with lemon juice, along with lunch and dinner. Also, take one capsule of the gallbladder complex for three days.
Then, on the last day, after lunch, wait for about 3 hours, and add 8 capsules of the sodium phosphate to half a cup of warm water and drink it. Again, about an hour before dinner, take the same mixture.
Your dinner should be light and consist of fresh fruits and vegetables only. After dinner, take 3 capsules of the gallbladder complex. After dinner, just before going to bed, drink about 6 oz. of the olive oil, followed by a ¼ cup of apple juice, mixed with 2 tbsp of lemon juice in it.
When you go to bed, try to lie on your side, hugging your knees for at least half an hour. This may make you feel a little nauseous, so you may want to keep a glass with a few drops of the Phos drops close at hand. When you wake up, take 8 capsules of the sodium phosphate with warm water, and 2 capsules of the gallbladder complex.
The gallstones will mostly be passed out in your motions. After two or three hours of the last dose of the sodium phosphate, take another 6 capsules with warm water. Your cleanse is complete and you can go back to eating normal food.
Remember, the cleansing, if not completely effective, can lead to the re-formation of gallstones, especially if one's diet is not taken care of. So stick to the diet/s and take care.
