Ear candling is an ancient method of removing wax from the ears. To know how this process is carried out, just go through the ear candling instructions given in this story.
Ear candling is also called ear coning, and has recently become a popular trend of removing earwax. The method is believed to reduce health problems like sinus, headaches, and ear pain. It is done with special candles called ear candles. Whether it is advantageous or not is always a question of debate. Given below are the instructions for this process.

Instructions

It is an age-old technique of removing earwax and was started thousands of years ago. In this technique, an ear candle is placed in your ear with the help of a supporting plate, and the other end of the candle is lit. The candle is left to burn for few minutes and is removed from the ear.
An ear candle is a hollow conical tube that is made up of cotton soaked in beeswax or paraffin. The procedure cannot be done by yourself, and you need someone to assist. So, definitely get somebody to help you.

Materials Required

  • Ear candles
  • Scissor
  • Pillow
  • Towel
  • Bowl of Water
  • Paper Plate
Now that you know what all things you need, just follow the steps given below.
♦ Make a small hole at the center of a paper plate. The size should be small enough to insert the tapered end of the ear candles.
♦ Lie on the bed on one side, with a soft pillow under the head. Cover your hair and shoulders with a towel. This is necessary for your protection.
♦ Ask the person assisting you to insert the conical end of the ear candle into the hole made in the paper plate. The non-tapered end of the ear candle should then be lighted. Now, place the tapered end in your ear in a vertical position.
♦ While placing the candle in the ear, it should be ensured that the candle is placed properly, such that the smoke that comes out of the tapered end does not escape out of the ear. Smoke escaping out of the ear indicates that the ear candle is not placed properly.
♦ With gradual burning of ear candle, the beewax or paraffin and the cotton cloth of the ear candle start drawing out of the candle, & they need to be removed. For removal, these should be cut with help of a pair of scissors, and collected in a water bowl. This curled up material should be removed after every one or one and half inch of the ear candle burns.
♦ The candles do not blow out on their own, so ask your friend to remove them when the fire has reached the stop line; and extinguish it properly into the water bowl.
♦ You can continue with one more candle, and proceed to the other ear.
The benefits of ear candling are temporary, and you may feel relaxed and fresh after the process. Earwax plays an important role in protection of ears, and it should not be removed artificially, as our body has its own earwax cleaning technique.
However, exposes you to the risks of burns, ear injury, temporary deafness, and danger to the shair and surrounding skin. Hence, it is not a recommended medical therapy by physicians, and is one of the home remedies for earwax removal.
